The onset of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 brought global tourism to a halt, causing a dramatic drop in Serengeti National Park revenues and threatening its conservation. With tourism at a standstill, the risk of poaching increased due to the absence of visitors who act as extra eyes and ears on the ground.

To combat these challenges, our team in Tanzania decided to share fresh wildlife content directly from the Serengeti with the world.  We took our small camp and team and lived through the pandemic in the Serengeti and produced a 30-episode series from the Serengeti.

This initiative aimed to support both tourism and conservation efforts during unprecedented times.  Virtual safaris became a vital link, providing millions confined to their homes with a glimpse of nature’s beauty and wildlife.
