About Mbalageti Serengeti Luxury Tented Camp

Mbalageti Serengeti is located in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. The Lodge is built around Wmanyemi Hill and offers a breathtaking 360-degree panorama view of the Serengeti Plain lands and the Mbalageti River, where one of the main attractions is the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Mbalageti is actually the word from old Maa language. It means wildebeest, but the word is no longer in use; today Mbalageti refers to the seasonal river.

The lodge has 24 luxury en-suite chalets made from canvas, wood and rock. Each is situated on a raised deck that is shaded by thatch and ideal for escaping the heat of the day. There are six family executive suites with their own private dining rooms and private outdoor baths. There are also 14 smaller but still comfortable standard rooms with great views over the Dutwa Plains.

There is a cosy living room with books, games and puzzles, a small curio shop and dining room with fabulous views. A pool is built into the rocks and surrounded by a spacious sundeck. Activities from Mbalageti include game drives in open 4WD’s and there’s a tranquil garden nearby where you can unwind with a massage treatment.
